back in ye olde times i has a 17x8 wheel with a 32 offset and 235/40/17's. it had plenty of room between the wheel and strut. it was really close to the guard (it needed a couple degrees of camber to fit)

if i did it today i would run a 35 offset (or maybe even 38?) and use a 225 tire, should fit better.

Fitment

FWIW I run 17x9 +24 all around with no rubbing issues. Car is reasonably low.

What tire specs on those bad boys? Roll/pull the fenders at all?

245/40r17 Yokohama Advan Apex v601. They're stretched slightly. Fenders are rolled. The rear could accommodate a 255 or 265 based on current spacing.
