To cover or not to cover.
Hey guys I picked up a 90 vert to clean up and sell, but Im at a bit of a cross roads. I restored and replaced most of the interior with black from another 7 i had except the seats they are still ugly cracked and holy blue seats. Also the top is in great shape it has two small tears in it that I think are repairable. Do you guys think it would be worth it in the end to have the seats recovered and the top completely replaced? Or should I just hold out and try to find some decent second hand seats and top? Looking to get biggest return here.
If the top really is in great shape, couldn't the two small tears be repaired rather than replace the whole thing?
How big a deal is originality to you- or your prospective buyer?
Vert seats are unique in the series, coupes never got the headrest speaker option, so some people would argue that only originals will do but they'll be harder to find.
If the rest of the interior is really good and it's just the seats stinking up the place, it's probably worth a recover. On the other hand, if the interior is generally worn to the point that fresh seats will stick out as obviously nicer than the rest, then leave 'em alone.
