6'8" driver trying to get good seating position
6'8" driver trying to get good seating position
Hey guys!
I own a completely stock 87 gtu. I love the car and my only complaint is that I can't get my legs back far enough to the point where I cannot heel toe and sometimes have issues shifting around corners (because my legs get in the way). On top of that I want the car to be a street/drift car and my legs block me from being able to pull the e-brake.
Due to all of this I want to push the seat back and get a low bucket seat. Since the car is a street car I want to keep all of the interior. Which raises some issues. Here is what I know: I know you can attach the seat brackets directly to or below the floor by cutting and rewelding metal on, I know that since my car is a 2 seat that I should be able to move the seat back partially to where the rear seats or buckets go and that companies like Bride are supposed to make low profile bucket seats. I am at college right now so I can't measure it, but my another "mod" that should help would be if I could get a small diameter steering wheel so I would have more knee clearance.
Hopefully all of that put together would solve my issues, but I just wanted to get your guys' take on seat suggestions, feasibility of moving the seat back that far, seat brackets, and if a wheel would help.
Sorry for the crazy long winded message, but it was a lot of info to get out.
Thanks,
Steve
