whats the best exhaust for a 91 t2

The best exhaust Ive seen was the racing beat complete system. They say you gain 32% INCREASE 59 hp.Is this really true and does anyone have or knows what this system sounds like

I just got my full RB on my 87 TII, and I love it. Sounds great and not to mention that i can feel that 59hp--its crazy.

the racing beat system looks stock and sounds stock, and it is worth the hp. if you want it ould get the rb dp and pre silencer and make your own system out to the back

I have the full racing beat on my 89 t2 and it's pretty lound, my blitz BOV is louder though . I've driven an 87 with the RB and it was way quieter. I guess the different turbo and manifold make a big difference??

I deffenalty didn't get 50HP but I'm still only running 5psi in lower gears, creaping to 8 in higher. if you run to 10-11 like they say (which will happen on a 87,88) I'm sure you will. but I don't think your engine will last too long with out some fuel mods.

Ok, I don't have a t2 but "RIDGE TECH" has my Greddy power extreme on his car right now.

he has an 87 t2 that is street ported with a Racing Beat DP, MID PIPE and my cat back right now.

that thing is SOOOOOOO quiet.

at 6500 in 1st @ 2nd gears it sounded really deep but it seemed quieter than an NA with hollow cats.

I know my NA is like 1000% louder than that T2.

-------
my sig doesnt work

89 gxl

racing beat header, silencer, and right now a t2 cat back,
I'm waiting to get my Power extreme back.

This takes me all of 2 seconds to think of a reply...N1 period I have it on my 86 TII and it throws beautiful flames. I have the RB DP and presilencer with it. That is the perfect bolt on exhaust system IMHO.

And most N/A's are way louder than TII's with the same exhaust due to the fact that the turbo eats tons of the exhaust noise. But I throw way more fire than anyone's N/A that I have seen. Thoguh with the NOS running, the N/A threw nice fire out the back as well

What did you do to have the RB 3" presilencer bolt up to the 2.5" N1 catback? How long is the presilencer? Right now I have a 3" RB dp bolted to a short reducing pipe going from 3" to 2.5" to a Bonez 2.5" mp to the Greddy Power Extreme. Their is an annoying exhaust leak between the dp and reducing pipe that I can't get rid of. I was curious of other setups people use to have a catback bolt up to 3" piping.

To those with a full RB system:
Is the entry side of y-pipe still only 2.5"?

To anybody:
Anyone tried the Apex'i Dunk muffler? i am thinking of getting it and a 3" downpipe and midpipe for my 87 TII

I use a Bonez DP & MP with a custom single pipe back to a Racing A SS Muffler on my 88 T2. The HP gains were there, less weight, and I have maybe $400 in the whole setup! Sounds great too! Not too loud...just right! At least for my me, its music to my ears! ha ha...

I just got the Racing Beat full exhaust, and the power increase is pretty damn impressive. I like the sound too, mellow and low, not that "fartpipe" sound.

But now I have to find myself a nice corrupt inspection station - NJ is getting like California with the strict emissions laws

I got the Greddy PE exhaust put on my 89' TII a few months back. Sounded so stock. Put on the Bonez DP 2 weeks ago. Still sounded stock just a tad bit deeper. But could hear the turbo spool up and down like crazy. Finally I just put the Bonez MP on yesterday. OH BABY! I didn't realize how much a difference the MP made. Now she sounds so good . Nice and quiet when you want it but wait, open it up and she's whole differant beast. I could'nt stop driving after I put on. Nice deep tone not raspy just what I was looking for, not to mention the power it gave. Oh yea almost forgot the flames, pretty sweet too.

later,
Earnie
