sunroof help!

hey! i've been having the SAME exact problem with my sunroof as it seems most of u have had......for one on the drive side the lil arm lookin plastic piece that raisesthe sunroof off is snapped....but that i can jsut glue back together or something, but the main problem i notced is that the cable on driver side isnt even moving, on passenger side it moves, and u can tell it wants to slide back more.....now it can go to the up position(i have to push a littl) but has some hesitation when trying to go backwards....

So i took the whole sunroof out of car, started takin it apart by starting with taking off the motor, and i kinda got the rail thing off and all that ****, but i just cant figure out how to completley take it off....im like 90% sure the cable doesnt move cuz of all the black **** in there...so i wanna take it out of the copper pipe thing and just clean allll that **** out and im pretty sure it'll work, i just cant get to that point tho....how does the rail/cable/lifters and all that come off on the front side of sunroof??? i cant even like get to that! anybody please have any help....i know what im doing pretty much and know the problem but just need some minor assistance here...if anybody has any pics of takin apart that would help a lot too!

PLEASE HELP! ha...im trying to get this **** cleaned out so i can put back in car so i can drive car w/o worrying about it raining or anything! ha pm me at headbang33 or e-mail me at headbang33@yahoo.com or just reply here.

THANKS FOR ANY POSSIBLE HELP U CAN GIVE!

Please help...

The motor runs like a champ...BUT the sunroof doesn't even move up or anything, I've tried manually cranking it too...nothing.

So, how does one go about opening or removing a sunroof that is no longer even connected to the motor anymore it seems?

Thanks

Jahan

Haynes is NOT the FSM.

http://www.teamfc3s.org/main/factory...88/14_BODY.pdf

Scroll to page 56, theres a breakdown of the parts, and the proper steps for removal and installation.

Exclamation

hey thanks man! the FSM for the sunroof brought up a good grid of the sunroof assembly...still doesnt really help tho.......

now im thinking one of my cables just needs to be replaed or something....

cuz i got both sides apart...and on passenger side i can push the cable in and out of the pipe housing thing....but when i try n do that with driver side it dont even move...

so i cant even like push the cable in the pipe thing...which of course would make sense why my driver side of sunroof doesnt go up.....any ideas anybody???

i hope i dont need a whole new cable....but thinkin thats what it mite come down to. shouldnt the cable be able to completly come right out of that pipe housing so that i can clean inside of it?? cuz i cant figure out how to get it out....

I'm going to need to do this as my sunroof needs help opening any closing. To be honest though, I would pay someone a few hundred bucks to not have to deal with it. I'm going to check into doing this now.

Hello everyone I also seem to have this same sunroof problem / passenger side goes up but not
the drivers side. Ive stripped the headliner.lights. etc off the roof. so now its accessable to work
on but even with the manual drive it does the samething. Sounds to me (I listened to each side)
like the cables are moving on both sides. What now. Is there anyway to open it fully without
damaging the roof? What should i look for now??? thanks
