how the hell do you get the picture to post in the forum instead of having to open it in another link

Just in case anyone is interested. I've been looking around on the net for repairing rust on the underside of my RX7 and options to paint it. I came across this site that has some pretty nifty information about DIY restoration and painting..

Progress . . .

I reassembled and mounted the mirrors, mounted the right light cover, cut open the spray booth but left the ceiling then rolled her back inside, safe again!

I don't even want to touch the paint even though it is dry now.

you can find wheels for your car SO easily...browse the honda sites, get some nice 16's used for a couple hunfred bux then some nice 205/55 F, 225/50 R tires. a car w/ this much effort and time deserves better wheels/tires I think. you can get away w/ $600 total easily...those size tires are cheap and used wheels in a 16X7 will be cheaper. I'd run with falken or sumitomo for a budget sticky tire (azenis, HTRZII)

you need to get some 5 bolt lugs before you start picking our rims. I have some if you would like to buy them but shipping from texas to oregon would probly be alot but if your interested just pm me. But what is the purpose of this car?? if its autocross or drag id recomend getting a 5 bolt lug from someone because it comes with 4 piston calipers instead of 2 which should be taken in consideration if these are your plans

Thanks guys. A five lug swap is not a plan. The purpose of this car is to be my project. Kind of a loose definition, eh? I aim to make the lightest FC possible while keeping the stock interior and a civilized exhaust sound. Big brakes are overrated IMO. I don't road race and don't need the big brakes. But I will swap in an LSD when I get her on the road again. . .

I agree that some better wheels are deserved at this point. Here is how the car looked six months ago:

All hail the base model! I love the stark simplicity of this car. No sunroof or any options (I yanked the A/C, lol)

Today I started making progress on putting the doors back together.

Kind of gives an idea how the three-tone gray interior will look with the yellow.

If I ever do try to make copies of the bumper, it will be "a while" from now. There is a lot of work involved in turning my non-exact bumper into a production mold that would allow me to make replicas like pancakes and sell them for a reasonable price. The big name bodykit bumpers that are $4-500 are ridiculously overpriced, in my opinion.

I can't wait to get this car finished! All that is left is to install the interior, port and rebuild the engine, get an S-AFC and get on a dyno for some fine tuning.
