Can someone let me know what this vac unit on the throttle body please?

I assume it has a vaccum nipple broken off it?
I am guessing maybe it is a secondary throttle control or cold start or something?

Real question is do I need it or do I just bin it? If it' secondary throttles I guess I can take them out and blank off any holes left like you can with a 13B?

Double thottle! The factory ecu keeps that valve closed to limit boost pressures to the mechanical secondary throttle plate and secondary runners untill the engine reaches operating temp. You can wire it open or remove.

 

Perfect.. So same as the 13B then.. Just wanted to be sure!
