what hp and tq #'s for a 20b n/a? (repu project)
considering a 20b conversion in a repu. was going to go the route of 89 tII motor which I have, but lately considering the possibility of 20b n/a. Want the power, reliability, and use 87 octane fuel to reduce costs for use. Also considering a wolf engine management.
1) does anyone know what the hp/tq #'s are for an n/a 20b?
2) where are the best places to get a 20b (best quality/ lowest price)?
3) what work am I getting into and what things should I consider about transplanting it in a 77 REPU?
any help would be appreciated, thanx in advance.

Yeah, my 20B seemed ok after I released some carbon from the apex seals.
1. maybe 220 to 250 HP. Torque? I dunno.
2. call up a bunch of japanese engine importers in your area. 2200 to 2500 is a decent price.
3. the extra length of the engine will be a problem for you as you know the REPU engine bay is fairly short.
I once thought of moving the tranny back by 80mm and somehow moving the radiator forward or just installing an electric fan on the front side and having the waterpump pulley almost touch the radiator on the back side. Also use the 13B pan and customise the oil pickup tube. Custom motor mounts to the frame will also need to be fabricated. Some welding knowlege is useful here. A custom header will be needed. Then again, the REPU could probably get away with the stock twin turbos because there is no idler arm in the way (it's on the outside of the frame, hehe).
Your old ribcase tranny is strong enough to hold a 20B if it's in good shape. The diff is also strong. It's like a ford 9", but you can't easily swap in an LSD unit.
Hmm, the tank on a '77 is a bit smallish, but should still be adequite.
