TEC I for sale
TEC I for sale
I am going a different direction with my car, so I no longer need the TEC I. One connector needed to be replaced so I sent the whole system back to Electromotive to have the connector replaced and have it bench tested. They gave it a clean bill of health! This is an opportunity to get your 20B running with a proven system for a lot less than some other systems. For a 20B it is complete. This originally sold for over $2800. A new TEC III is $2500 with everything. The TEC II s go for $1200 to $1400 used - and they can't run a 20B and are less sophisticated. WinTEC II software is compatible with this unit and integrates flawlessly. If you have technical questions I am not going to be able to help you. I suggest calling Electromotive and talking to Fred (703) 331-0100. Taking offers.

will it run a 20B in split?
and how much are you looking to get out of it?
There's about to be TWO 20B project cars running around the streets of Bloomington/Normal, IL, and both need an EMS.

Note to others: Normally, classified ads are only allowed in the classified section of this forum. However, I will let most of the 20B-specific threads stay in this section if I feel that they are of special service to those interested in a 20B swap, and/or if I feel that the threads have conversational value.
PFS has used the TEC II to run several 20B engines.
Although the TEC I / TEC II manual states that 3-rotor split timing applications are "available", the only way I know to accomplish this is if you buy another TEC I EMS, and use one for leading plugs, and the other for trailing. It would probably be a good idea to check with Electromotive to get a clarification, as this may no longer be the case with the new software. There is a 3-rotor wiring diagram for the TEC I "12-cylinder" model, so that is encouraging.

I have one for sale as well!!! TEC I with dual magnetic pickups specifically setup for a 20B by SR Motorsports. I purchased mine a year before the TEC 3 came out and sicnce my car isn't done yet, I'd love to get one of those instead. Not that it's that much better, just has more options, outputs for injectors, ability to control dual fans in a staged fashion, etc.
I want $1800 for the unit including coil packs and 2-bar sensor. Doesn't include insurance for shipping nor shipping cost ($5-10). The unit was ~$3K new
I need to sell it within the next month at the latest or I have to stick with it.
