Reliabilty Question
I was wondering if any of you guys with 20B's have the same reliability issues as the 13b or other rotarys. (If youve driven 100k or more ....?)
Thanks Shane

i dont think they've really been around long enough to rack up 100k miles yet, not many are daily drivers, but look here: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?t=361141

reliability
Cosmo Twin turbos dont have a long life, but the motors have a life proportional to the flogging that they get just like any other rotor. JUst done a full rebuild on turbos, exhaust system, 3 new chambers, a front N plate and a b series eccentric shaft on an ECCS that supposedly had only done 43K. Motor showed significantly more wear than that when stripped - in excess of 100k. Very experienced motor rebuild shop laughed at my speedo reading in fact when I told him the km on the motor that they were working on. So either the speedo has been wound back in Japan prior to the auction or one of the previous owners has flogged it or motor swapped for a dog one.
I have a half cut and it has 105k written on the body work in texta by the cutter-upper. We are often told that cars in Japan do practically no K's but that just isn't true a lot of the time. The turbos from that 1/2 car are obviously also very tired, if not rooted from the amount of oil in the air intake system and pooling in the intercooler.
Speaking with guys from the Cosmo owners club in Japan, most have cars on their third engine in the mid 150K mark!
So the answer to your question about reliability is probably under your right foot - flog it hard and it will fail OR drive it like a granny and have no fun!
