Quick Question about 20B's!
I think a 3 rotor for an RX7 is an absolute beast, and I'm growing quite fond of the idea(I did search, but I came up with a billion search matches). I am basically trying to aim for 400-450 HP, with maximum reliability.
(to all of you who say if you want reliability, you shouldnt have bought an RX7, if properly taken care of and tuned correctly rotary engines can last a decent amount of time)
Does a 3 rotor basically have a similar lifespan of a 13b?(basing they were both rebuilt by the same person/used the same porting/engine coatings etc. etc.)
Are more 20b owners more inclined to take out heating/AC out of their cars to possibly fit dual radiators or a V-Mount?
I do know that a good upgrade from a 13b to a 20b will cost me around 25-30k easy, I was simply wondering from the owners(not somone who just reads about it), the pros/cons for the 20b!
Thanks so much for your time guys!

When I was importing Cosmo's (before our beloved Aussie Gov changed the rules) I would see 20B's dead at just 60k km. On the other side, I sold a Cosmo to a guy that managed 190k km on it before the engine died.
Unsure on what that translates to in old 19th century "Miles"........
It just depends on the previous owners & how well the engine was serviced & maintained before you get it.
Make sure you work on your suspension to get it handling properly again because that perfect balance you take for granted with a 13B under the hood will be lost with a 20B in there.

I'm in a process of getting one done.. But not acturally have.
but to answer your questions of what I know so far, i'm pretty much taking the ac out because i usually dont use it and its just pain in the *** to hook it up and all that.
most 20b owners don't go v mounts... I think its due to lack of space and its easier to go with a front mount.
dual radiator is in my mind, pointless. I don't know how you would fab that.. if you have a good idea, I would like to hear.

Pros and cons
Pros: Buckets of torque
Cons: Poor gas mileage
As far as reliability, see my thread entitled "The RXX-7 at 50,000". I haven't got enough miles on it, yet to attest to longevity, but the 20B has been less of a problem than the '93 3rd gen I owned.

Doug, what are you smokin? lol.
Atilla's local, so you might wanna check out his 20B sometime. I've been trying, but schedule is ludicrious. Who you thinkin of having do the conversion? Because unless you've got madd skill, or you're crazy (like Herblenny, aka Phil lol), it's not something you can do on your own. Ray charges like 35 large for the conversion. Hit me up sometime, we'll talk...
