Pettit or PFS 20B swaps

My question is exactly like the subject sounds... which one of the conversions is the better of the two. Not worried about price or difficulty, just which one has the most pay-off in the end.

It all depends on you. That's what custom means.

I think that you should contact both shops and see which one you think would be better to build a custom car to your specs.

im not sure pfs is still doing custom work??
either way they both have a different way to solve the problems of the swap, it just depends on what you want the car to do when its done

I dont think you can get PFS to do any more 20b hybrids. Most of the guys who did all the Fab work dont work with him anymore. As far as the best handling conversion it would be PFS because of the way he kept from changing the suspension. The Pettit model just drops the steering rack and plops the Motor in. Not good for Handling but just fine for making Gobs of straight line performance.

Eh. I was going to start a thread titled '20B n FD: Which is the best setup?' Looks like I can just speak my mind here. I've always like the Banzai setup, but it's just that I don't like what they have done with the install. Is there any other options from other tuners besides these two without doing the custom work yourself?

Damn if only Axis Motor Sports would be here!!! I want a friggen tri turbo setup and since they have done it before, I don't see the problem why they wouldn't share their invaluable secrets if the pirce was right...heheh

petit also cuts and rewelds the steering arms on the knuckle to compensate for the lower rack

I think these are OUR only two options of ways to set-up 20b's without fabricating a system yourself. I am sure over in Japan though they have other ways of setting up 20b's in a FD, whether it's just they make the crossmember themselves, or if it's just the know some other modifications to get it to fit in there. But you can be pretty sure that Japan tuners don't order Pettit crossmembers, nor have I ever seen a 3 rotor FD with the motor and tranny pushed back. Have I seen all the 3 rotor FD's in Japan? No, but I have seen a couple while doing my own 20b/FD research. And if Axis motorsports was over here I am sure you could get them to build you a 3 rotor triple turbo, but you are still talking big $$.

you could dry sump it, that would fix some of the x member issues.

I would just want to retain the handling properties that the car was based on and have the power of the 20B. I want my cake and be able to eat it too :p

if i was to do it all over again i think i would have stayed 2 rotor. i could have made the car about 50-70? lbs lighter that way, and it would have been done by now too
