A guy here locally in Asheville did the body work and paint.

How wide is the rims and what size rubber do you have on there. BTW, It looks ******* fantastic!

Do you have any traction problems?

How much did it cost for the molding and paint job? Also, what are your thoughts on the flares ultimately cracking along bond line? The work looks very nice. I've thought about molding in my flares but have worried about the cracks I believe will form. This is why I thought about copying the Pettit flares with metal ones.

I'm moving to Asheville soon so it will be nice to have a good body shop resource available. We'll have to get together an RX7 event for the Blue Ridge!

he jacked the car up on the flares to make sure they wouldnt crack. i have never seen or felt paint this damn smooth. he is also painting my cym over the next week or so.

i would assume ~1500-2000 for the moding process plus painting the car. my engine builder stared the thread so he would be a great resource for you. i would put him up against any big name shop in the country.

Well the stuff he used just to mold the rear flares is expensive and I saw the finished product and there is no way this will crack. This stuff is definately worth the price. Im not a body expert but we put some of it on a spare part and tried to get it to flex and crack and couldn't. Most flares don't fit flush with the body and there are gaps all over the place, especially around the gas cap. This is why he really didn't want to paint the car like this with just the flares bolted to the body.

Actually, he said that he could make it better with some spare quarters instead of using the pettit ones. He also said the he could flare the front out a little with some extra fenders which would look great. It's definately one of the better wide-bodies I have seen.

Could you find out what this stuff is for us? I'm going to be doing the same thing to my flares this summer.

He jacked up the car on the flares? Forget the bonding material, wouldn't this crack the Pettit fiberglass flares?

The cost sounds very reasonable and it's good to know FD resources exist in Asheville. It looks like we'll make the move in the summer so I look forward to hooking up with the RX7 community there.

Looks like a work of art. I have not seen an other molded job look as good as mine. I post a quick picture here. The guy that did mine and paint was very reasonable but very high quality. Can't wait to see your finished product.
