OMP modification for 20B

I have currently modified my OMP for my 20B to make it a fixed constant oiling amount. I want to eventually make it manual by attaching a cam or lever system of some sort. However I may have had a better thought the other day. Would it be possible to find some kind of plunger device that operates 0-5V so that you can use this to increase oil flow with say throttle opening or whatever sensor you use to give you 0-5V output? This would only apply for ECU's that cannot operate the OMP directly.

Any thoughts? anyone done this? I am no electrical genius but the idea seems reasonable to me?! I guess the OEM setup uses more than just engine speed to determine oil flow. but maybe this is a happy medium.

To be honest I would just run an ecu that can operate the factory omp, as for your idea.... its already being developed.
i'll see if I can find the link for it.

contact jason at sideseal22@yahoo.com for a a current version beta unit

.. he handmakes EOMP stepper motor controllers that operate from a 0-5 V load source or from a PWM map .. using offset and decay and self scaling principles , comes supplied with a map sensor of its own if required

suitable for FC , FD, 20B , 13bRE and s1 rx8 , and can include most factory plugs to make almost plug play

can also be used in rx8 mode on faulty FC /FD/20B eomp units where the feedback controller may have issues

tell him i sent you

Thanks very much for that.. I thought someone must have tried something like this unless I was completely missing something!

Hsmidy - I have already got my ECU setup so I don't want to change that. Hence wanting to find a work around. I thnk in fact it was you who gave me some info on making the fixed flow OMP a good while back! Took me a while to get back on to sorting it but thanks again.

Why the hell would you do all that when you can just run a mechanical MOP from an FC?

In fact that is what I had planned to do but since getting one unless I was sold the wrong thing this does not bolt onto the 20B front cover? So looks like I would then need to change the cover too? also not enough metal to re-drill the holes and the oil gallery shape is different. If someone know's something I don't please let me know.
Also do they flow enough oil for sure?
I am kean to try and make a simple electrically operated one in the future using the original 20B one as a base.
