not this thread again! 20b na 280hp q's
basically ive been saving my pennies for no real reason. my fc is running a large streetport 13b with a stock turbo and its pretty fun as it sits but i like projects. this car has been basically complete for a year and its time to do something else. i have a million questions but the most important one i can think of to bother you is this..
i have a haltech e6k and i understand that it cant handle the trailing split but i want to go na and most na cars im told have 0 trailing split anyway. my goals arent very lofty. also concerned about the flywheel and counterweight. what do i do about that since its obviously going to come with an automatic unit.
and finally, where is a good reliable source to pick up a decent motor?
thanks 20b gurus

yes, you can run the e6k with 0 split for NA.
the 20B comes with counterweight and flexplate. Throw away the flexplate and mount any 13b aftermarket flywheel and youre golden.
I got my motor from japan direct in NC, but you are closer to the west coast guys so might as well just get it from one of them, Japan2la is the most known one on here I think.
Since you are going NA, you might as well not pay the extra $ for a C or D series block, these really only have an advantage above 500whp or so, as below that you wont stress the parts enough to need the heavier castings. Try to avoid the pre-A series if you want to turn it over stock redline as the eshaft was weaker in some of these.
Used to be you could get an A series for $3k-$3500, Im not sure anymore.
