Question JC Cosmo wiring question/Jap translation

Hi All.

I have a question about a tempsensor located on the upper water elbow running to the radiator. Please look at the attached picture, and explain why this tempsensor is here (I think it's hooked up to the Transmisson?), how to measure it (values), etc...

Thank you in advance, and yes, I already asked all my friends, but they don't speak Japanese... =)

Sensor is the one cable nr 3 attaches to. This one is unique to 20B (13B RE doesn't got it).
I got some problems with my original engine harness and want to exclude this sensor as a problem, but I don't know this sensors perpose as the engine also got another tempsensor in the water pump housing

Hope someone knows

Regards

Roy

I must short circuit that sensor on my car & see what it does to the transmission one day so l know once & for all.

It's designed to go short circuit over 110`c if memory serves my & that makes a change in operation of the ECAT control of the transmission.

If you remove it & leave the wire "open-circuit" then you should have no trouble at all. You are also correct that only the 20B-REW version got this sensor & the 13B-REW version missed out.
