Innovative 100mm turbo

I havent seen a compressor map for this turbo, as there isnt one on their website so I will ask here: Does anybody have any experience with the Innovative 100mm turbo? If so what mods etc to your engine? (Std block, modified exhaust ports, Bridged, PPed etc) I look forward to your replies as I have the chance to buy one at a reasonable price.

Are you getting it through Innovative? Or someone else?

you won't be able to spool that thing w/ just a 3 rotor. abel has to anti-lag the **** out of his 91mm, and the anti-lag causes his apex seals to either break or chatter. he blows a motor almost every pass he makes.

Antilag is only to spool it on the start line, I want to know of peoples experiences actually running the turbo.

well his motor problems are fixed, he never had a problem with apex seals, he had problems with the e-shafts but mazda has supplied him with custom units . problem fixed. the motor is pinned, but was still breaking housings, so he added more pins, problem solved. he has been having chassis issues as all the pro drivers do.. oh and as far as spooling the turbo, he told me his car makes 20 lbs on a rev, so spooling the turbo is not a problem!!
another thing, nobody but him and his turbo builder knows the specs of the turbo he uses.. all i can tell you is that its a garret custom unit, and its one of a kind..

dont knock abel.. he is still the the fastest NHRA legal rotary !!!
the aussys thought they could go faster with one of thier 3 rotor powerplants, what did they do? unfortinatly they crashed....
at least his r-100 is safe, in the NHRA museum!

ok, i spoke with some people i know with 3 rotors...

on gasoline.... 88mm is the biggest turbo that was suggested..on alcohol, you can go much bigger, but those applications are for race only.....

the motor your planning on running, is it stock or ported? makes a big difference

The engine is in a S4 Rx7 Drag car - all tubbed etc, was running 8's with a V8 in it. I have saved it from a fate worse than death & put the 20b in it. At the moment its an unopened block, but will soon be pulled down over the offseason here & ported. I have decided to run a GT42RS in the meantime & see what happens after that. I think the Innovative 88mm would also be a good option & the 100 may be a bit large....

I will keep you posted! Thanks for asking around 680!

^ That is just so wrong. If you go make an RX-7 a drag car, KEEP IT ROTARY. At least that's my opinion. It's your car, do as you wish... I just don't agree with it.

Fate worst than death??? Seems to me it was living well(8's), and is now catching an irreversible disease. Much luck trying to get a rotary to run a consistant 1000hp, without running alky/meoh, have fun with rebuilds after every run or so. I would love to see the debut no matter what though!!!!

Steve Kan ran an 88 on his three rotor. Get hold of him and pick his brain.

Steve Kan is one of the more reputable builder/tuners state side . He has a built drag car .
i think a 84mm is big enough for the 20B to spin . 100mm seem abit large but ..hehe.. would love to see that **** make a pass . Well , if it is going to be a pure drag car , than PPort would be a logical step . With lots of customs stuff - intake, turbo manifold, intercooler . What fuel are you gonna be using ? race gas ? alcohol ?

Good luck on the project

Cheers, We have a few 20b PPs running over here, nobody seems to be getting the results on them, so Im leaving it side port with custom Inlet & TB. I have the 1300Hp PWR Barrel cooler on it. Have decided to Run the GT42RS on it for a start & take it from there. Just using race gas for a start & then on to methonal when we wind the boost up. Should be a bit of fun!
