How to test a CAS on a 20B

I'm not getting any RPM signal on my Link ECU hand controller. This is causing no ignition to the plugs. How can i check to see if my CAS is bad? The CAS sends a signal to the ECU that the engine is rotating right? Thanks for any help.

assuming your wiring is correct and ECU is in working order...

first thing to do is disable the fuel system... don't need any vapors around a spark

then pull the CAS out of the front cover...

pull the plug wires off the spark plugs

use a spare set of plugs... put a plug in each plug wire and set them(ground them) on the engine block

then (with the key in the run position )spin the CAS gear by hand ... the plugs should fire... please make sure the car is out of gear and again make sure the fuel system is disabled

Thanks for the info. The car was running real good prior so I don't think it's wiring. I might just get another cas and unplug mine and plug the spare one in. I'll let you know what I come up with.
