Question Help: Question About Building A 20B

For my 20B project, lately I have really been thinking about building my own 20B. When I say building my own 20B, I mean getting all 13B parts from third gens (brand new or flawless parts), porting them to make them to where I want them to be ported to, getting a 20B eccentric shaft from some place, getting a custom oil pan, and calling it a day. My question here is that will I be able to use the same front cover with the same oil pump and the same "front cover items", and be able to have a normal 20B, or is the regular 20B's front cover totally different with a different or maybe bigger oil pump and all? In short, would it work to get all 13B engine parts, adding another rotor housing and rotor and rotor housing end plate, and putting a 20B eccentric shaft into the engine? Thanks for the help beforehand, and I hope to possibly see some pics too with explanations....

People ask this all the time, and technically you can do what you say.

You also need a 20b intermediate plate, which is just about impossible to get right now outside of purchasing a block.... or at least they are pricey.... japan2lA might be able to help you with that stuff.

if if were that easy, or if it were actually cheaper, people would do it that way. But, generally, there is a reason that those who want a 20b purchase one and go from there.

As to the front covers, you can use whatever you want. it depends on what car you're putting it in, how you want the water pump housing to be setup, what you want to use for ignition triggering (CAS, FD setup etc)

You'll also need intake manifolds etc.

why wouldn't you be able to use 2 13b intermediate plates? what's the difference between a 20b intermediate plate and a 13b intermediate plate?

The 20b plate is wider. Eshaft aligns the rotors for this length.

would both of the intermediate plates have to be from a 20b?

No, there is only one Fat 20B plate, the other one is basically identical to a FD/RE center plate. And the fat 20B center plate also holds the 20B only stationary gear/ center bearing.
