Help: Need to know which setup will make more hp
I'm kind of in the market of looking for a turbo that I am going to be putting on my 20B that I get in the future, and I was wondering which one of these turbos are bigger and make more hp on a 20B. If you guys could get me some estimate hp numbers, that'll help even more. I'm planning on running only 12 pounds of boost on my big street ported 20B that will have a huge custom intercooler and the HKS 4 inch straight full exhaust system. My car's going to be somewhat of an everyday driver so don't think I'm expecting like 800 rwhp or something, haha. The choices between the turbos right now are either a T78 with an a/r of 1.00 or a T04R with an a/r of 1.15. I would like to know which turbo would make more hp and which turbo would be more ideal for the setup I'm running. Not that this matters, but I'm going to have two oil coolers with at least 19 rows and stainless steel lines, a huge custom radiator that is almost twice as big as a Fluidyne, and 3mm apex seals on my ceramic coated rotors. Let me know whatever you guys got.....

I dont know the T series super well, but if you get a T78 large frame, it will support 580-660ish rwhp I believe. The To4R is on the small side for a 20B, its 66.7mm inducer (If I remember correctly) wont support much more than 450-500rwhp putting out lots of hot air. I would think it depends largely on your HP goals. I would say a GT42R would most likely fit the bill, giving 600+ to the wheels. Oh, and a 1.15 a/r turbine is about right, the 1.00 I think is restrictive unless being built for only bottem to mid range power. Just my 2 cents.
wow, that's interesting cause some other people are telling me that the t04r will make more hp than the t78 will. i wish there was a site or a thread in which it said all the specs of every single turbo out there; that would make everything for everyone a lot easier (maybe a little more competative for people in the turbo manufacturing industry though). thanks gtorx7 for the input. are you still making 20b subframes for the fd with the stock fd subframe? i'm gonna be needing that soon....

thanks to everyone on their input. unless somebody decides to sell a bigger turbo for a reasonable price, i'm going to go with a t04r setup with my 20b. good luck with your cars (i'm sure as hell gonna need some, haha)....
