get the Toyota supra turbo pump,, that's what I'm
going with,, they are cheeper than mazda prices for a better pump, and drop in with out any mods.
I checked the cosmo costs about 500.00 canadian,
the 3rd gen rx7 pump is like 780.00 and a supra pump which is better than either, is only 260.00 canadian.

That Walbro pump will be fine for a completely stock 20B, but if you add any mods you will need something larger like an Aeromotive or SX pump, filter, and regulator.

Anyone running twin pumps?

I have a Paxton "blue" pump. It's not installed as of yet. So far, on other street cars I've seen, they haven't proven to be very reliable. Presumably, one of the reasons the pumps keep failing is they're burning out because the car spends most of its time on the street in conditions other than WOT. Paxton recently made a voltage stepper available, but I haven't tried it either. Supposedly, the voltage stepper keeps the pump at 9 volts until you hit boost, and then it kicks it up. I think its supposed to keep the pump cooler. Something like that.

On the other hand, I noticed the Supra guys are big on running twin pumps. It seems cheap and relatively easy to do this, and it ought to be much quieter. The photos on MKIV.com looks awfully ghetto though. They just drop it into the stock pickup sump - no external surge tank or anything. My one big concern - and I've had this happen before - is that if for some reason one of the pumps fail, your car will still idle and drive around town normally, but once you hit boost, it leans out and you're toast. This happened to one of our shop's car's before and that really sucked. Any opinions?

mazda also steps the voltage down to about 9v, they dont seem to have pump problems though so i'm not really sure what they do it for, its a question for koby.

the dual fuel pump looks like crap but it flows

I've been thinking Bosch.

...but I don't really know where to get them. I admit to not having looked very hard, however.

Hehehe, they both go outside the tank, and make lots of noise.

Don't forget the non-standard voltage and pressure ratings! Liters, gallons, and pounds per hour are easy to convert, HP requires a bit of speculation, but how in the heck are we supposed to compare pumps running at different voltages or pressures? I know, I know, we call the manufacturers. And much like the other automotive and aerospace vendors, I bet they wonder why jerks like me bother them so much.
