??

I have a 1st gen 84 gsl.
will a 20 b fit? if so, do I need a new tranny?
How much will that and the mounts cost? Is there a mount kit?

If not, what would be the best to put in there, can't stick with the 12 a

thanks

Yes, a 20B will fit. For that matter, a supercharged Allison V-12 would also fit. Just about anything is possible with lots of money and a good fabrication shop.

Here is a 3-rotor in a 1Gen. It's not a 20B, but close enough.

I do not know of any 20B mount kit for a 1Gen RX-7. Custom mounts will probably cost $200-600 for the pair, not including the rubber part.

How is anybody supposed to know if your tranny will work if you don't even know what kind of tranny it is? Easy answer = no, it won't work.

The 20B conversion is a major mod in itself, and is one of the most difficult projects you can perform on your car. If you want something somewhat simple, then install a GSL-SE 13B instead. You could either stick with the 13B fuel injection and use a standalone EMS, or you could go with a carb conversion. Either way, your 84 should be pretty quick with an NA 13B if set-up well.

Thanks
Will the 12 a carb fit on a 13b?
carb would be easier I think. Do I need knew mounts for a 13b? or will the stock 12a mounts work.

And again thanks.

Racing Beat sells a front cover motor mount that allows the extra length of the 13B to easily bolt into a 12A car.
