this motor is custom made and its not a factory unit.....it uses new modify 13b plates, new housings ,lighten & balanced rotors and a billet eshaft... Allistar's block is capable of making a sure 1300+ bhp with the right fuel & turbos, and with the kind of R&D these guys did with this "short crank" motor the price isnt that bad...ever herd of Major league? well MJ is a pro class rx8 from PR thats using one of these motors with a rumored price tag of $80K each...ever seen how consistant MJ is? this car runs high 6's almost every pass and probably has more 6 sec passes under its belt than any other rotary car in the world(?)....here are a few things that might reflect the price..

guranteed 6 sec performance ( with the right parts combo)
alot of $$ spent on R&D, so they might need to recover some of it back with a higher than normal price tag
all new parts, with a hell of alot of custom machined pieces
risk of selling the motor with their proven design to someone that might copy it and sell it for cheaper price...imagine u make a part and sells it for market value with a fair mark up and someone like me walks into ur shop and buys it from u.... now i go home and copy ur parts and sell it for 1/2 the price i paid... why? because i dont have to worry about recovering the cost for R&D, because u already did that for me...pretty soon u'll close down because someone else is offering a similar product for 1/2 the price...are u understanding the points im tring to make, and my guess to why these motors are priced above normal?
