20B value

am swapping out a Pettit built 20B A block for a 13B and will be wanting to sell the motor & subframe.

i believe the motor has a small amount of miles on it but will do a compression test on it.

assuming it has excellent compression, what would be the approx value on it?

thanks,

HC

Is it going to be a long block with manifolds? with or without turbos? or is it just a short block keg

all the 20b stuff will be up for sale which includes a T4 manifold, all the intake side, a front mount intercooler ignition (6 MW coils). in a week or so i will post pics of everything but i was just wondering w this post approx what a low miles, Pettit built, good compression motor with no manifolds would bring.

well as you know, the issue is that there is really no marketplace for 20b. The "market" usually consists of one buyer and one seller, and they don't always coincide. Most tend to be tire kickers. Built 20b retails 20k--that's balanced, 13g shaft, machined rotor, new housings, etc. Front clip pulls cost 5-6k, slightly more for D-series with good compression result. I've seen fully built long block with ECU and everything go for around $10k a couple years ago off a porsche. I've seen barebone 20bPP go for about the same amount after waiting years on ebay. There just isn't many datapoints which I know you're fond of I suspect you will sell it quickly with good compression result/video for 6-7k. I suspect you can sell it for around 8-9k or even 10k if you don't mind waiting for the right buyer. I do think you will get a few grand more if you sell it with working T56 behind it. Seeing you already have an adapter and know-how for it, that may be the best way to go.
