20B Ultimate build. What would you do?

Hey guys. My friend has a single turbo 20B in his FD. He wants to tear it apart and rebuild it with all top end parts. Money is not an issue with this car/motor.

So start giving me some ideal/dream setups you would go.

Thanks,

Chad

I dunno man, if hes got a 20b car he should already know what he needs to do unless he bought in from someone in which case I recommend him just taking it to Gotham or Pettit and let them figure it all out for him. One thing Ive heard Cam say a million times is you can drop a 20b in the car easy, but making the car run and drive right is what costs you.

Go with CLR in Florida.

Personal experience from Pettit has been pretty poor workmanship.

money's always an issue.

sky's the limit if you want to go all out with 20b.

why doesn't ur friend list what he's thinking and we'll go from there. if he doesnt have a clue, i too would suggest gotham or pettit. i'm sure they'd be more than happy to take a plunge into his 'no-limit' budget.

I don't think I understand the situation. Is it that he doesn't know or doesn't care what kind of performance he gets as long as it impresses the rotary internet community? I mean, is this a show car, drag car, road race car, street legal vs. non street legal, etc? Is he really willing to spend over $50,000 USD on an engine based solely on internet posts? Also, what kind of transmission does he currently have? A high-hp engine could require drivetrain upgrades exceeding $35,000 USD, depending on the torque and race application.

I would go with Mandeville or Downing Atlanta.

Plan A: Rebuild for high boost, triple turbo, boost the **** out of it.

Plan B: includes plan A but add a good street port.

Plan C: includes plans A an B but add a 1/2 bridge port

Plan D: peripheral port N/A 20b

Plan E: includes plan D (except the n/a part) and add plan A.

I'm not going to say anything bad about Carlos, especially since he seems like a good guy and I've never done business with him, but there've been similar instances in my personal experiences. Guys that really know their stuff and do excellent work but just aren't that good running a business. I think most of the time it's not intentional though.

I know I get so wrapped up in car stuff sometimes I start ignoring other stuff. And I don't even have a business to worry about. When you live and breathe this stuff, it's probably twice as hard.

The ebonics really give merit to your statements. It's one thing to talk like a retard, but it's another step down to write, and look like one.

Screw the 20B... LSX Warhawk - built to handle 2500 HP and is a factory casting to boot

Not that you'd be able to use any of that power anyhow without a full tub, slicks, etc...

i find it curious that your friend with all this money would need you to come and ask on his behalf what to do to his car ... anyway, not the point or issue.

Mandeville, Downing, Racing Beat ... that would be the order i'd choose.

- large streetport
- quality build focused on reliability (oil system, balancing, etc.)
- appropriately sized turbo
- lots of street tuning

if he wanted to be a little more outrageous, i've dreamt of a semi-PP 20B setup for some time now (though it's not likely to materialize for me), so with his money ...

sorry its taken me so long to get back on here. Been busy working like a ****.

K, the car is originally from Pettit. It already has a rather large single turbo. I haven't got all the specs on the car cause i haven't taken a good look at it. He wants to build it for just monstrous power. Its not to show off on the rotary community its his car / a shop car. And as i said money is no issue. Yes even $50,000 is not an issue. He makes enough damn money as it is.

So keep the ideas coming.

Most vehicles for that purpose have an alcohol supercharged 540 cu in V8, Terra tires, C6 transmission, and planetaries from a military 5-ton truck. The engine will cost about $50K USD, and the remaining transformation will be another $100-200K USD. If the owner hasn't thought of a name yet, I recommend "Tyrannosaurus RX", which I am sure will get many cheers from RX-7 fans as it crushes old Hondas.

LOL, it is pretty useless with zero guidance. I find it strange that the owner has so much money but no internet access.
