Would you have a rough estimation of what a street legal version of a car this caliber would cost? Just incase I ever win the lottery;)

This is VERY extreme Ryan, but It would prob set you back £60 - £70 grand (I'll let you work the conversion out). :)

A lot of that is down to the man hours unless you do a lot yourself.

Make sure and add some aluminum plates on each side of your IC/radiator setup for maximum sealing and increased airflow through that assembly. Definitely one of the baddest ass FD builds ever!!!

What are those posts for under your rocker panels? Some kind of air lifting system for the car when you're at the track??? I hope one of the leading UK car mags in planning a feature on this bad boy once you've completed your build!!

Copeland 08-16-13 08:57 AM

Amazing car and great work/progress. Can't wait to see her running!

Speedworks 08-16-13 09:04 AM

What series AP brakes are you using? I have the older CP5200 laying around but looking for bolt on brackets (fronts)

I'll be having talks with either Banzai or Jap Performance Mag soon, so hopefull a good right up and front cover should be soon.

The posts under the car were originally for a flat floor to be bolted to, these have now been removed :)

I'm starting to realise the importance of this car, it seriously wasn't the intention when
first starting out down the all or nothing route but it's starting to dawn on me.

Right tonights work gave me massive highs.... and big lows.

We completed the bodywork and I love absolutely everything (the Highs)............ except for the rear bumper...
it really sucks and doesn't look right at all (the lows).

These are the good sides. :)

Again, thanks for all the comments, I put the number plate on and it breaks the back up a little but still hate it.

Anyway, Gary was happily snapping away so here are a few of K-II at the McLaren show as some have asked to
see him in natural light.

And before anyone comments... the panels do fit better but I only fitted the front bumper with two 10mm bolts. lol :)

OK, so IMO, it's really not that bad. Just a WHOLE lot of GREEN. Try photo shopping some images for possibilities before you start. Maybe paint the area lower than your license plate flat black, just to break up all the green. If you're going to change it out, I'd go back to a"stock rear bumper and one of the more popular aftermarket diffusers, then modify the diffuser to make it more aggressive. Aesthetically, if you look at the car from a side view, the front bumper and rear diffuser should be at approximately the same height. Right now the rear diffuser is quite a bit lower, which is visually a little confusing. Again, JMO. Overall, beautiful end result!

pmsl, it's probably a bit overkill but as we all know... heat is the race car's enemy.

Hi all,

Just taking a bit of time, we have to amend the gearbox temp sensor housing slightly so will take a few more
days, the new cooler is now on though.

In the meantime we've fitted the boost solenoid and boost lines, the engine bay is now virtually finished.

Attachment 656244

Attachment 656245

Sicknote 12-07-13 01:10 AM

Right, the third geabox cooler (better quality with higher pressure rating) is on and runs up to temp nicely together
with the new oil, we've sorted a few minor leaks too.

The car is now over at Horsham Developments for the corner weighting and full suspension set up.

Before I took it there yesterday we got him running on all the rotors properly and this is what happens with a
fair bit of over-fueling together with the car being up to temp at last. (bad quality vid as was on a phone)

Rxmfn7 12-07-13 02:23 AM

Awesome :bigthumb: Love the green!

Sethix 12-17-13 05:20 PM

I've began reading from the very first post until now and my mind is totally blown away!!!

For most projects (not only rotary) that I see from UK lately, your project must be on the Top 5 if not really on 1st!!!!!

Very clean, hand made built project not bought, and lots of time invested and good ideas applied on the car... (like the aftermarket parts and the RX-8 light!)

Congrats and now when spring comes I wish you enjoy that beast on track and kick many arses =D

(just one question, you got your 20B on the mainland (uk) or overseas?!)

Cheers!
