Thanks for the reply,
He said that it is not wired in so you have to set the "second stage" by hand under the hood but it could be wired into the headlight up switch?

Sound right?

Both Mike did and the Acostas have a problem with the torque keeping the car in gear with both the Rx-7 and now the 8. I know you changed out the trans did it Help you?
Great. Something else to look forward to . . . . :p

I know I have always wanted to build a 20b car but read this:
Link

Or the whole thread:
Trans

Now it looks like the Acosta's have a new transmission upgrade too

Yep,

I didn't read that entire thread again, so this may be a repeat but I did read of a guy overseas that talked about stripping 3rd gear doing a highway pull.

When I started my project I went in assuming that I would not be running the stock FD tranny, and really, probalby not even a modified stock one.... ended up decided just to redo the entire driveline to be sure that I don't have a problem with it. I haven't landed on a solution at this point, but I am leaning towards something with a 6spd option.

The thought of dog box like internals in the stock housing is intriguing, but in the end this is not a track car, and I have decided against that. It seems like there are drawbacks to all the options (T56, tremec, supra etc) and noone has reall come up with what I would call the idea solution.
