20b just for drag?

I heard somewhere that the 20b was just for drag racing because it made the car handle worse. came here for some clarification. thanks.

it will change the weight distribution, for less than neutral handling. But it's nothing that can't be overcome by suspension adjustments (or weight reduction from other items in the engine bay).

Also, the steering rack is changed (I believe), which is a negative.

It's just an engine. What you put it in is up to you.

Check out the Banzai article where they ended up with a 20B FD which was lighter than stock. The weight distribution depends on how you build the car. Note that this is not a simple engine swap, but an extensive project.

This 20B-powered car looks like it can handle fairly well, LOL:

I just talked to the team owner while they were up at Sears Point for the LeMans race and they were running a 13B with a big single in that car. They have been having problems blowing engines due to the new MoTech system that suddenly advances timing to around 40'. Their temp solution was to only run 12 lbs. boost instead of the normal 24. Unfortunately they were relatively slow on the track. BTW, they fire their plugs together....

Um, that was the HSR 20B Kudzu which placed 3rd in class at the Rolex 24. I think you are confusing it with the 13BT Lola B2K/42 shown below.

Yeah, I know, they have a lot of cars and they all look similar.

BTW, what new Motec system?
