20b engine mount question

i have a question about mounting 20b.

currently i have an aluminum bracket to hold the 20b by the front housing (older rx7 front housing) and just one driverside mount bolting to the subframe. will this hold reliably for dd 500whp+ setup?

btw, they're all solid mounts. i was also curious whether anyone's running solid mount for their 20b and how the driveability is on the streets.

my tranny mounts aren't solid though. which doesn't make much sense to me, but that's how things will have to stay for now due to fund restrictions.

my car's rx8, using stock fd tranny.

thanks in advance.

The 1st gen front cover seems to be sturdy. I've seen some 550rwhp 450rwtq two rotor drag cars use this cover for a long long time. With a 20b I would be a bit worried of its integrity. The engine will twist to the passenger side, so the extra mount on the driver side isnt helping your strength concerns very much. If you could get both mounts on the rear or center cast iron housing that would be better.
All of the three rotors we've built used our delrin solid engine mounts. Granted they were dynamically balanced engines, but it was very livable. You will notice more transmission gear noise. Other than that, its not very noticable and the gear shifts are excellent. You dont have to have solid tranny mounts when using a Power Plant Frame. It WILL help take stress off the engine mounts if they are solid, but generates more rear end noise.
Hope this helps a little, and Merry Christmas!
