20b eccentric shaft puller/separator

does anyone know where i can get one of these tools to separate the 20b eccentric shaft for cheap? i'd rent it or whatever cause i only need to use it once. or, does anyone know a way around using this tool? it's way too expensive to buy for me. thanks

which car are you asking about,, i have a few in the works
assuming your taking about the 88 AE 3 rotor its been put on hold
while i work on the rx2, as well as taking care of the kids ,,, kids take up
way to much time, so little time left for working on the car projects
twins will do that you know,,,, something i didn't know but learned.
if your going to have kids do the one at a time thing!
later

It would be nice if someone was willing to rent these. Charge $30.00 + shipping and your done. Now you dont have to waste a ton of money for something you would hopefully use only once.

How did you separate the shafts? I've had my engine nearly two years and haven't even tried to open it up yet because of not having an e-shaft puller.

on the first one we used a torch to heat it up a little and it popped right out. The second one came out on it's own with a tap of the hammer

Thx for the reply! I may just as well remove the front section to see if I can separate mine too.

that's actually my buddies motor. i'll be porting that sometime in the next week or so, but it'll be a good month or two before the car actually runs.
i got the new shell to replace my stolen car, but i'm still in the process of saving money for the 20b and ems... mine will start out as a streetport and i'm gonna try to use 2 of the big turbos (depending on how much manipulation is necessary). then i'll bump it up to a 72 or 78 later on down the road.

the hammer and pry bar work pretty good. just make sure to lay a towel or something down so you don't score the iron, don't hit too hard where you'd mess up the nut, and don't let the pry bar slip or you'll jack up the e-shaft. IMO the way we did it is kinda dangerous, but if you're patient and careful, it'll work. i went out and bought a 2bl copper sledge just for that and getting the flywheels off now.
