20b eccentric shaft puller
can someone elaborate on this ,going to open a 20b soon to refresh it and i need to know if i need a puller for the eccentric shaft,and if i do can i make it .Thanks.

I have seen the mazda one (after i made my one)
and thought that mazdas design was the best for
keeping the pull load from possible bending the shaft,
which is what i designed my one around.

Does the bolt in the center of the puller actualy press on to the nose of the shaft or do you have an adapter like the factory Mazda one does? In my opinion that's one of the important parts needed in the design. Without it you would be putting a lot of force directly onto the nose of the shaft which also happens to be one of the weakest points on it.
BTW. I bought my factory one for $450.00

nose but i was in such a rush to get my motor apart
i used it as was and it worked fine. still have to build a
lobe to add to the side of the main part for the long
bolt to go through to finish it but as it is its good for now
wow $450.00 that's nuts! i was thinking about getting
the factory one but the need to get my motor apart
asap drove me to build one, guess i would have made
one either way once i found out the price.

The way I view the entire matter of the puller is that it's a lot cheaper to buy the proper tool than to damage the e-shaft and have to replace it along with all the other components than can be affected by a faulty shaft.
