13B-re/ 20b dual thermostat system

The question, how is the 13b-re/ 20b dual thermostat system supposed to work.

I have the RE, I put 2 180 degree TStats in, and I don't have the diaphram hooked up. When the diaphram gets vacuum it closes blocking the rear stat.

With 2 180 tstats and a koyo the temps stay around 195.

So should I hook the diaphram up to vacuum via a check valve to the manifold so it stays closed under vaccum and opens under boost?

Should I connect the diaphram to a a vacuum solenoid, and in front of the turbo and have its opening controlled via the haltech?

Does anyone know how this was supposed to work?

Thanks,

Haven't looked into the 13B-REW but it should be similar to the 20B-REW operation.

Rear thermostat starts opening at 82`c. Fully open at 95`c
Front thermostat starts opening at 97`c. Fully open at 110`c

Both sit the same direction

Rear one has ZERO vacum on the diaphram under normal operation

Rear one has VACUM applied via soleniod during hot days in traffic......???

Except for the guess for when the soleniod switches the vacum to the diaphram, the rest is straight from the JC Cosmo workshop manual.

Hope that helps a little

PS, dont ask what celious temps work to in 19th century measurement. I live in the 21st century........
