Are you serious?

I'm new to Rotarys, so it may just be that i don't know a whole lot about these specific engines but...

I have seen lots of posts on here reporting huge (at least to me) power gains from only a few mods. Now, don't get me wrong, i'm not doubting the potential of rotarys, if i did, i would not have bought mine. But almost doubling your stock output with a Streetport, Exaust and carb? Is this for real or what?

I didn't build my car, i bought it from a freind of mine, i always just thought that his perception of this car being "so fast" was just because of his age and the lightness of the car... Am i wrong?

yea if you don't have to worry about emissoins testing then you can get huge gains.

nope, i'm in Missouri so i don't have to worry about any of that... the previous owner keeps telling me it's not pulling as hard as it should... i don't know why...

I suggest you have routine service then road test it.
Streetport is a generic term, and it can vary from mild to wild with outputs from 160-180hp at the flywheel when being accurately tested on an engine bed.

However as a start I suggest you find a quiet road, measure a 1/4 mile out then time your performance. Its cheaper than having a dyno test, plus most dynos are usually inaccurate and a stopwatch does not lie.

The real question is are you happy with the car

I am happy with the car, but i have not done anything to it at all myself... and i think it's about ready for a Turbo, and i even have a guy here in town that can make custom piping and manifolds for me... i just need to find a cheap turbo...

Used one off a subaru 1.8L (83-92 I think)
Those turbo's are indestructible, and should be just a little over-sized for your job.
However that would take all custom work to install.

yea, just go to a junk yard and find a used one, may not perform as well as a new one, but it should work out just fine.

yeah, that's my plan, then if it breaks... i'll either rebuild it or buy another!

Zero10, what was the model name off of those Subaru's, i forget... and i'm not sure if the US model will have them, i think they might though.

Get the exhaust manifold turbo off of a Turbo II RX-7, it'll make it easier for you. You just need to do a little grinding on the manifold to make it fit, and the turbo is sized good for the 12a. You should be able to get the turbo and manifold for $200-$250.
