From the money i get from parting my car i'm buying a Suzuki Swift and "tuning" it. A metro based car with a 4cyl. FWD for year around driving and actually has quite a bit of aftermarket availability. My motor is in pieces in my garage, but i think i will sell it with everything needed to put it back together (excluding 2 side seals) if someone wants to come pick it up, $350.

Yeah you'd probably be disowned if you sold the car. Why not keep it for later when you realize RWD is the way to go? Haha j/k, I know the Swift has a bunch of tuneability (as far as economy cars go... =X) just make sure you get the 16 valve good one.

Plus, you have a really unique 7 with that front lip of yours. IIRC of course.

I had a really unique 7, it's torn apart now. I started parting if you out if you didn't see the post. The 16v Swifts are very hard to find.

Hmm.....

How is that a hard choice?

And.....aren't the Swifts a 1.0 Liter 3 cylinder?

They're a 1.3 4-cyl with a CURB weight of 1,700. Over 1,000lbs lighter than my SE. The GTi models were 1.6 DOHC. They're similar to a metro, not identical.

no offense... but.... you're on an RX-7 enthusiast message board, telling everyone you want to sell your RX-7 to buy a domestic tin can on wheels.... what do you think the answer is going to be?

Actually, SUZUKI is japanese. I'll always be a rotary enthusist, i'll of course buy another Rx-7. I just like these little swifts alot. You've got to admit they're kind of neat.

You should buy the swift, drive it and work on the 7. The GTI's are quick, but it's not what i would call a well built car. And they definatly dont feel as safe as a 7. and of course, down with FWD.

I think you should by a folgers coffee can, add wheels and a 50cc motor. I mean, it weights 1690 less than the swift, for $50, and the ride is practically the same.

Swifts are low end econoboxes. They are slooow, even the GTIs. Not that 1st gens are all that faster, but at least the car was designed with some level of performance in mind. And then there' the fun factor, have you driven a swift before?

No, i haven't driven a swift before, but the owners of them seem very pleased with their cars. A GTi is a quicker car stock for stock than a 12a.
