To you electrical whizzes. Electrical/light problems...
Well... First of all, my headlights go up but dont go down so when I want them down i have to put them down manually. Secondly, my interior and guage lights dont work. The warning lights work but the other lights dont. Lastly, my tail lights dont come on when i turn the on the lights. They illuminate nice and bright when i push the brake but not when foot is off the brake.
I need to have the car fixed by friday so i can legally drive it at night.

1. Check the fusible links. They are located on the driver's side in the engine bay.
2. Check fuses in the fuse box, but likely it is a burned out dimmer switch. What year car is this? Typically the dimmer switch burns out because people connect these two wires with bullet connectors under the shift boot. Those wires are for the illumination for auto cars (P, D, N, R, etc.). Connecting these wires causes a short in the system and typically burns out the transistor in the dimmer switch before the fuse blows. To fix, you can either bypass the dimmer switch or just replace it. Just make sure that whatever was causing the short is fixed before replacing/bypassing.

Headlights are fused with the fusible links mentioned above. There are two of them that operate the headlights.. My guess is that one of them is blown. You can buy replacement fuses to replace the wires.. 30 amp for the top and bottom and 60 amp for the main link in the middle. The aftermarket ones look like this.

How does one go about checking fusible links? They look sheathed in this clothy ****, is there any way to determine whether they're still good?

You can usually take them out and just measure continuity. Another option is to measure voltage on both sides of the link when it is powered. The voltage difference should be small (say less than 0.25 volts) if it is higher (like 1 volt or more) than the fusible link is suspect and should be replaced.
Another option is to replace the fusible links altogether with a fuse box from a second gen. The fuses are more easily found (any auto store) and are easier to check if blown. In addition, there will be a few open spots on the fuse block if used in the 1st gen. These open spaces would be convenient place to add a fused power source for an electric radiator fan or an amp.
