Yoohoo belt slipping...
My 3L220 yoohoo belt is slipping and making an awful noise, but only at idle. As soon as I touch the gas, it goes away. Has anyone tried using a slighty tighter belt? It seems a little on the loose side.

Installed a yoohoo belt on an engine I rebuilt. It wasn't a 3L220 (fractional HP), but a real automotive V belt. It is still doing OK. Mainly because the V matches the pulley sheave. It's like 22 1/8", but the wide V makes up for the extra 1/8th" length. Infact, if it wasn't an 1/8th longer, it probably wouldn't work very well (it'd be too tight).
If you're interested in trying a real V belt, I could go look up the Napa part number for you.

I'd like one too for my FB. Although I live in Canada, we have U.A.P. instead of N.A.P.A. but they can cross reference the #,s I,m sure. nipper@onlink.net
The part number is 7215
Here is a thread that I posted some info in, as I understand it, of how the yoohoo belt actually works.
