Thumbs down Yellow mark on main pulley GONE

The yellow mark that I need to set up my distributor is gone ! Is there any way of figuring out where it should be? The distributor was removed when the engine was sold to me, now I am stuck trying to figure out how to set up the timing.
The car has been sitting for a few years and now I am ready to get it back on the road.
Its an 82 with an 83 engine(that I have never had running).

Hop ethat someone can help me out here.

If you still have the 2 notches on the pulley the bottom one is 0 btdc and the other is what ever the trailing timing is set at depending on engine I guess. But the pulley I think has to go around twice to get the dist. to go around once. But in this forum somewhere there was a good write up on just what your going thru . Try a search for timing.

The E shaft pulley turns clockwise, the first mark you come too is the leading timing mark.

And I have never seen an RX-7 that still had the paint on the marks

I used to have a 79" rx-7 and it still had the marks on it. I just had to scrub the grim off of it really well and then repainted them with caution orange paint

The two small groves are there but I was sure therre was another mark I was missing. Its been a while since I looked at it though. I will get a better look at it and come back.
Thanks for your help so far guys!
I am sure I will need some more in the near future!
