Wth wheels are out there for us?

I have an 84 GS, with gslse rear. I have some ugly *** wheels on there now that came with the car, and I'm not too huge on our stock options. I'm not sure if the rear lug pattern is x114 or x110 though. I need to wait for a day where it isn't pouring in the nw and see if my front wheel fits on the rear. I measured but couldn't tell if they actually were different or if it was human error. Anyway, I really like the gslse wheels, or pretty much anything 6 spoke or more. Is there really nothing out there, or am I just looking in all the wrong spots?

Good idea with the wheel fitment. If your fronts are GS they are 4x110 and the rear is a GSL-SE they are 4x114.3. Easiest way is to do what you said and take a front and rear off and see if they swap.

Is this something the PO told you - its an SE rear end? Does it have different rims on the rear and the front?

The SE rims are some of the best looking rims in my opinion. My favorite 4x110's are the Enkei 92 Mesh and some other more rare off brands like Epsilon and those sets.

As far as 4x114.3 - the world is yours. There are many ricey sets of rims for Honda/Acura, Nissan, and Toyota that you could pick from.

Let me know whether the rear is an SE or not - that's the dilemma.

its easy all you need is a little math skills to do the INCHES to MM conversion. 1" =25.4MM

so if your bolts from center to center ACROSS THE HUB measure 4.5 inches apart, then you multiply 4.5 x 25.4= 114.3 then you indeed have a 114.3 bolt pattern.

if not and there closer then you are officially SOL..... **** out of luck. GL

now go grab a ruler and a poncho and measure the bolt pattern.

That's the method I used before but I couldn't get a good enough measurement. It came out a little different every time. Either way the front and rear were interchangeable. Only thing I'm wondering is if its possible to do an LSD and rear disc and still keep the x110 hubs? Because he didn't mention anything about doing the front too.

Look at my build thread in my signature. GSL keeps x110 and gives the best LSD - with rear discs

you're worried about wheels, you should worry about tires. The selection of 13 inch tires is woefully small.

So if you upgrade the wheels, upgrade to +14 inch.

sounds like you have the 4x110 pattern, are you sure its an LSD? or just because the guy said you think its true? if it is its probably a GSL rear end. not alot of wheels choices for that pattern. ask me how i know. my rx2 now has 114.3 swapped..

Excellent point. I got the General Altimax tires - not worth their weight in dirt.

Although, 14" performance tires are becoming more rare as time goes on as well since auto makers are switching to 15+" rims...

You may have a GSL rear like the one I picked in my build thread. If there are disc brakes and its 4x110 like you said - its a GSL.

The swap is definitely worth looking into, but if you're poor like me you're kind of stuck with a very limited wheel choice. That's why I locked down a pair of 83 LE's because they are the poor man's alternative to Enkie and Epsilons
