Unhappy WTF – Radiator Cap

Just putting the final touches on the replacement radiator program, got the POS Racer all filled with new Antifreeze, and went to put the cap on the Radiator, and it doesn’t fit! The opening in the new Radiator is smaller than what was on the original!

I had this same cap on the POS Racers old radiator, had even just purchased the start of this week to make sure it wasn’t the problem on the old radiator, which it wasn’t. The part I got shows in AutoZone’s website as the one for a 1984 RX7.

My British Vic Catalog shows only one P/N for the 79-85 RX7, any ideals?

In advance I appreciate your input!

Autozone has the wrong part listed in their database. I had the same problem. looked up the cap for an 83 in their list and that fit my original radiator on my 85 se as well as the new one i got from radiator.com

You wouldn’t happen to have a manufacture and a P/N would ya?

What was the difference between the two caps?

Thanks!

My biggest problem is that the New and Old Cap both fit the Old Radiator. Now neither will fit on the New radiator.

The opening on the New radiator is physically smaller than the Old Radiator.

Any ideals?

Got one from a local (Ft. Worth) Radiator shop for $135.00 + Tax. With lifetime warranty, which was close to the best price I found on the I-net. Wanted to have local support in case I had any issues in the future.
