Question would it pass inspecion?

Well, looks like the 12a in my 83 S is burning coolant so it will need a rebuild sometime soon. While I'm at it I might as well streetport it, and put a full RB exhuast on (with cat or course) Other than rebuilding the carb and cleaning everything else up I wouldn't do any further mods (yet) would this even have a remote chance of passing NJ inspecion? Personal experience would be nice, not just guessing

Are you talking about the RB long primary system? Because I don't thiink you could put a cat in that without it being custom made or something. Besides, a cat would defeat the purpose of the system. Just save the stock system, and swap it on for the inspection.

hehe, i thought about that too, but I was talking about the power pulse system, but looking at their website i just realized that would be the wrong one if i were to street port it dammit. Is there any way to get a cat on the long primary system?

Probably not legally. Cats are usually only legal if in the stock location.

Get this guys....I passed inspection in NY having NO cat at ALL. The catalyst number was right there on the hood and the mechanic asked me why it didn't have one. I basically confused him with a bunch of turbo related and heat reduction crap that seemed to flow out of my mouth. He scraped off my old sticker and stuck a fresh new one on the window and charged me 14 bucks. He also seemed to not notice that the engine was a '78 and it's sitting in an '81 and that's illegal. I'm telling you guys, rotaries scare people out here in NY because they don't understand them. Confuse the mechanics and they will go away, lol.
