is it worth it? buying a 7
I found an 84 for sale. It is pretty clean, maybe 7.5 outta 10, but the carb is screwed up. At least that is what I think it is. I had to change the plugs and pour gas into the carb to start her. Sounded great, nice and smooth. I have a locked up motor in an 81 to pull parts from, so that might help some. I'm going to try to clean the carb from the 81 I have, and se if that does the trick. But, for the real question.....what would be a fair price for the 84 for sale?
I don't know the trim like gsl, ect.... it has a glass sunroof, says targa 7 on the sides, and has rear drums.

I paid $500 for mine and all I needed to do was pour gas down the carb (plugs are fine). And the body is in excellent condition.
$500 CDN btw.
Take what you will from that.

$1500, I hope it's not that much. It's not really running yet, and that means I can't drive it. I will just have to see, I guess. My somewhat of a "parts car" is a buddies, but he wants to put a V8 in it. I'm trying to take all of what he considers leftovers. I really want to get a 7, but I don't think my wife is falling for the "I can get it on the road" trick as well as she used to.

if it's got drums, it's not a gsl, but the targa top could get ya some money if you were looking to sell it. and if the car isn't running, i'd offer roughly 500, but that's just me...

My scale is
All of these prices assume the car has enough good parts for me to make my money back plus some.
Not running, No title, $100
Not Running, Good title, Ok shape. $100 - $200
Not Running, Good title, Great Shape. $100 - $500 ish
Running, No title, Eval the parts worth, $100 - $200ish
Running, good Title, Ok Shape, $1000 - $1500
Running, good Title, Great Shape, $1500 ish
Adjust for GSl or GSL-SE.
Now to get around the Wife I just Let her drive my 79, one good time sideways and doing some donuts and she was ready for her mustang to go and a 7 to take its place. I have sence gave her one car and we picked up another for her, But she is not going to be happy until she has a SP Motor or Better.
