Unhappy worse day ever...

well today my girlfriend needed a "break" so i was pretty emotional. when i left i went to go on a drive up the local mtn road to clear my head. when i hit the very top, i hear a loud clank sound. i drive back to see wat i hit and to see nothing. i do a 3 point turn and i can't reverse. great, how wonderful now im basiclly stuck in a ditch cuz the road is so narrow. well, after awhile some friendly folks helped me out and now when i turn, theres a loud moan. when i try to reverses, its impossible like the ebrake is on.

so question 1: is it a blown diff or tranny?
2: what should i do abou this "break"?

im feelin real REAL messed up.

Sorry to hear of your hard times man. Does the car still drive OK in forward gears? Not enough info for me to take a guess at this point. Let me know....

happened to my dads truck, thought i would say something just incase....

what happened was his e-brake seized and for some reason would only drive in reverse and not forwards, was fun driving that home 20km's in reverse....

not sure what else it could be, might be anything....

well, it drives well enough to get the car back home. when driving, it sometimes locks up so u have to clutch in sometimes. at low speeds like 2-5mph theres screeches and moans. sometimes at higher speeds too but rare. and reverse is locked as if the e-brake is on.

women aren't worth fretting over for very long. Do your mourning, then move on and find another one. They're out there!

Put the rear of the car on stands, and start it up, put it in gear, and see if the sound is coming from the rear. It sounds like a diff. bearing has gone bad.
