Worrying brake rattle

My car has a slight rattle noise at the front, the worry is the moment I touch the brake pedal it stops.

I checked the brake pads and rotors. Nothing feels loose on them. Being brake relatedi am worried there is a potential safety problem. Any ideas?

my first thought would be the rotors are loose. i think this because you say when you brake, it stops. maybe when you brake, the pads hold the rotor tight which is why it stops. a good way to make sure your rotors are seated correctly is..... take off the dust cap and everything else until you get to the nut. torque the nut to 50 lbs, back it off again (to make sure its seated), and then torque it to 20 lbs. that should be perfect.

I have a click, click, click noise coming from my left front brake pads. There are two things causing this, one, my rotor is slightly warped and two, the pad is too small for it's carrier. I even have the retainer clips in there. The pads were cheap and I think they might be out of spec. The situation doesn't worry me but it's damn annoying.
