Thumbs down Worlds Dumbest Rx-7 Owner

I now this kid who lives not far from me, he got a rx-7 for his birthday(good job parents! ) Well he is well known for his car abuse. Needless to say, after alot of neglect and hard running the 7 motor went out. He came to me for advice I told him to buy a 12a from hayes. Well he buys it, and does the install himself, and tries to fire it up. No go! Well I go over look it over really quick not paying too much attention to it. I assumed he read the haynes manual(he did not ). I knew the kid was in over his head, so I told him maybe the 7 is not the kinda car you need maybe you need a honda or something like that. To make a long story short his parents wanted to know how much more it was going to take to get it running. I said knowing that there are no places to get it serviced around here the best option for them was to sell it, and buy a piston car. Well of course I agreed to pay them for the car. I gave them an even $1000 after they couldnt sell it for 6 months. Ater getting the beast into my garage I started to pull the engine, and I noticed that not a single vaccumm line was connected, along with all the larger air hoses leading into the intake. HHHHMMMMMMM idiot behind the wrench, yes i think so. I figured what the hell I will connect everything up, and give it a whirl. After reassembly, rats nest removal, and initial crank still no go. So i check compression, and sure enough it was dead on. Had great spark. What in the world could it be........HHHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMM...........GAS? Thats it, other than being an idiot and not assembling correctly he forgot to put any fuel into his "New" gas tank. I resold them the car to the kids delight, and as if he couldnt get any dumber, rolls the car in a ditch last week trying to do some rally sportin offroad!

I dunno, I think it's hilarious that the idiot rolled it. He got hurt, right?

I'm not one to wish harm upon people, but, DAMN, he deserves it.

How much net profit did you make?

All I can say is WOW. That kid really is dumb. I had to work my *** off to get my car to where it is now. I've got something like $3000 into it. I would NEVER thrash my car. Mabey once in a while, but not all the time. 7's were made to be run hard once in a while, but deffinately not all the time.

25-30 MPH collision. I wanted to pass a slow moving dump truck that was in the middle lane, jumped a gap in the left lane and accelerated. Unfortunately, I couldnt see through the dump truck that the turn lane way up ahead was backed up, so traffic in the left lane was stopped.

I locked up the brakes and slid sideways (Had I had about two more feet of road or not locked up the brakes, I would have had my car up on the median and not hit any thing.)

I crushed in the trunk lid, bumper, driver's side tail light, and rear quarter panel of the 1996 Corolla I hit. Insurance payout was $3000 IIRC.

On my car, I broke the passenger's side tie rod center threaded link, mangled the control arm, and crushed the fender.

$200 in junkyard parts. (Fender, Tie rod assembly, and control arm) And I was able to drive it to storage... But it appears that my steering box got trashed... I went form half an inch of play on either side to almost two inches on both sides pf play... I have a CP Racing Rack and Pinion kit to replace it. It was cheaper than a good replacement box.

I also don't trust the strut or spindle on that side. Not that I've examined it, but I'd rather get another one.

well my parents didn't buy me my 7. my girlfriend did . But it was a bartering situation. She bought the 7, I gave her my honda. Never done something stupid like roll it or wreck it for that matter. Even though I did accidentally drive over a parking block this morning. lol. Didn't even know the thing was there.

But hey are you gonna part the 7 for what it's worth?
