Won't stay Running

'85 GSL SE started to idle rough, and stall until warmed up. Then just died driving at 60 mph. Changed fuel filter and checked pump. No help. Towed to RX builder, drag racer who shorted MAS flow senser, all was good. Swapped out MAS, died again on way home after 30 miles. Started again after 15 minutes. Back to mechanic, who decided after much testing that one of the 3 fusible links was faulty. Repaced it and car ran great for 3 days (150 mi.) then died pulling into parking spot. After an hour it started again but idled very rough. Drove it home and parked it. Three days later started, and I moved it for winter storage and pulled battery.

In a week or so will put battery back in and try to get ready for summer, but until I can solve this dieing issue, can't trust going anywhere.

Any thoughts? Note mechanic said there is no oil cooler, though never received a too hot idiot light, so don't know if oil heat is culprit?

Thanks

I am confused. Are you saying that your rotary mechanic said that someone had removed or bypassed the oil cooler and that as long as the idiot light did not illuminate that all was good?

I have no experience with SE's but some things tat I would look for on any car of this vintage. vacuum lines and electrical sensor connectors. Couldn't hurt.

Thanks Richard. The car has never had an oil cooler since I have owned the car I guess. It was just a comment the mechanic made after the last fix. I will add one this spring, but I wonder if this is my problem.
