Hey everyone. A few years ago I swapped a carbureted 13B into my 79, replacing the 12A. A few weeks ago, it started making a funky noise when I would try and start it, as if it wasn't firing. All I had to do was turn it off and turn it over again and it seemed fine. Now it refuses to start.

I'm fairly mechanically inclined, so I've checked all of the usual suspects. I'm getting spark to all four plugs, fuel is pumping, fluids are fine, timing is good. I know that because I'm finally posting this it's going to be something simple, but I'm at wits end here.

I don't know if it is of any consequence, but I replaced my water pump recently. I can't recall if the noise began before or after the water pump replacement. There is not coolant in my oil, though, nor any oil in the coolant.

try pulling the plugs and see if its flooded

 

Great idea, I just can't find my thin wall spark plug socket for the shorty plugs I put in it. I just ordered one though and will be able to check Thursday. Thanks.
