Wiper Motor Issues

Ok, so i just got my new wiper motor in, and have everything BUT the wipers themselves on. Problem is this; when i have NO wipers installed, the things turn fine. When i put the wipers on, even just one, they stall or hardly move at all. This is a brand new motor, and i dont know what is wrong. I don't think that i have the knuts and things on too tight, as i have tried them when they are very loose. Does anyone have a diagram i could look at, such as hanes repair page on the wiper display, or any advice?

Thank you.

Hi,
the wiper shafts themselves dry out over time and the grease becomes contaminated with rust and gunk causing the wipers to slow down and putting extra load and strain on the wiper motor.
Here's how I fixed mine ( it starts about 1/2 way down the page) My wipers fly along now!

Cool. I will give that a try tomorrow, as it is my day off. Thank you for the help! I'll let you know how it goes after I disassemble/assemble the piece.

Honestly, i've been putting the process off for months. Didn't need to worry about it during the summer, and now i'm regretting it. It's been a long process, involving my gracious grandfather buying the wiper motor for me, just to help me out. Replaced that, just got it all in today, and am now going to have to take it all out tomorrow (thanks to ian65's suggestion/help). So that might be a good idea on your part. Try it before you have to work out a deal on a new motor though. Something that might have been a good idea on my part had my grandfather not bought the motor for me first though. Thanks for all help guys. I'll get back to you tomorrow.

Only hard part is getting the snap rings off; unless you have the specific type of pliers required, it's a bit of a challenge to get them free without scarring the shaft or over-flexing the ring.

OR ugh.

So, i took the damn thing out and put it back in about 3 times now. It is not ideal weather for this right now either. SO...the new motor part number is 91-0643-40, or at least i believe it is the part number. Problem is, i'm still having the issue with the wipers not turning, or getting stuck at a certain position. Frustrated. At wits end. Please help. Winter is here and i'm tired of having my car just sit because i can't drive...

Thanks again for any help.
