Winter gas sucks in rotarys.....

So is it just me or did our 7's get faster all of a sudden? lol I live in north western Pa and in the winter months they sell "winter gas" in the colder months. I began driving the 7 earlier this year when the weather started looking up and i noticed it didn't quite have the snap it use to. But just yesterday i filled up and wham! It felt like its old self!
Thats when I remembered the whole "winter gas" thing. I looked up on wiki about it and it said they sell the E70 winter blend from october thru to may under the E85 #. And being so close to may and the warmer weather upon us they must have just switched locally back to the E85 for the summer.
So has anyone else noticed this other than me and would it make that much of a difference? Or am I just crazy?!

Ethanol has lower energy density per unit mass than does gasoline. around 0.78 if memory serves.

E70 has less gasoline in it than E85... E85 is 85% ethanol, 15% gasoline.

Regular gas most places is 'oxygenated' with 10%-15% ethanol during winter months.

Wait but if E85 has 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline then E70 would have MORE gas in it than E85 cause then in E70 theres 70% ethanol and 30% gas.
