Alright all,
Wiper bushings are up for sale again on ebay. They have had a redesign closer to the headlight bushings. They can be found on ebay if you look me up "kutukutu1"
Some pics

Kinda interesting that a few month back i was getting multiple messages for when i was going to make these again, yet it seems like the interest has died out. Regardless, they are up. Thank you to those that have purchased a set. Leave me some feedback of your experience with them.

Has anyone tried something like this?
Amazon Amazon

or a ball and socket joint at the bar's end? Seems like it would be a more robust solution, but given how it took decades for the plastic bushing bearings to die, not a needed one. Maybe Kutukukutu's $18 replacement is more pragmatic?

Ordered a set of these and the headlight bushings for my '79, but it's got a blown engine, so will be a while before they will get any testing. I'm just glad the option is available!

I agree that a spherical bearing style would be more robust. You would have to modify the motor arm to be able to use the spherical ball joint and every other pivot point. I am not going to say that mine are the most robust out there, but as another member pointed out when I started making these; For the price, if they last 2 years I'll be happy. I really hope they last longer than that though.

Anyone that has feedback, please let me know. Thanks again to those that have bought a set. All this money goes right back to the community since I do this not only to help the community, but to fund my 7 as well.

That need to modify all the parts is what's caused me to not do that project. For starters, you have to remove the ball from the motor and wiper arms. It's probably not too hard - they're pressed in and then staked, so a little grinding then a hammer whack would be required. It will be a semi-permanent mod. Going back would involve a little work. Fortunately, I waited long enough for someone to come up with another solution.

Hello again,
The inevitable has happened. The stock of the current bushing material has been depleted. I have found a possible replacement that i believe should be an improvement on the bushing with a tighter fit around the ball joint, will not crack in tension or compression. You can hit them with a hammer and nothing will happen to them. They also will have lower friction as well. The material is TPU, which is similar to what shopping cart tires are made of. Strong, durable and also flexible. Only downside is the cost/kg of material, which is more expensive than the last. i plan on providing 5 or 10 sets at the current cost of $18 once i feel they have been refined enough with the new material for some feedback on it and then will begin selling them at about $20.
Thank you all again, i will post back as soon as i have it all done with pictures and general assessment of the material.

Wiper bushings are back and better than ever.
The redesign does not require rivets which offset the cost increase of the material, so the price has remained the same.
This material is very good and is very promising.
Check them out by looking them up on ebay. If you want to see a video of the bushings, check it out on youtube.

Just got my set installed. Everything snapped together and feels solid. They're going in my daily driver for the winter, so I'll be putting them through their paces!

Now we just need popup headlight bushing rebuild kits. Great work. I have my set here in the garage looking at me, awaiting for the car to come home from fabrication.

And he makes those too! I just picked up a set of the headlight ones to replace my non-existent oem bushings. Good stuff and worth the money! Clunk....

Almost six months later (wow time flies) and these bushings are still working great! No trouble surviving the cold or pushing several pounds of icy snow off my windshield. Definitely recommend these

You are a life saver! I know the first gen community is small but you have saved a lot of us the hassle of hunting down semi-usable old parts

I installed mine a few weeks ago. I drove in the rain for the first time the other day, and what a difference! The formerly sloppy wipers performed like new. An amazing improvement for such a small price.
