Windshield trim clipS

Hey guys,

I have a 1984 that i am repainting. When i tried to get the trim off the window the clips all broke. So i am gonna repaint the trim and then plan to put it back on, when i do i will need new clips. Where can i get them? My bro said he got them from Mazda years ago but they were real expensive. Is there somewhere else i can get them? What could i use instead?

Also, eventually the windshield will need to be replaced. When it is time, will the clips be broken a second time upon removing the trim to access the windshield?

Thanks

I picked them up at Black Dragon. They were the cheapest.

It's near impossible to get that trim off without breaking the clips. Like Chris said, Black Dragon is the easiest place to find them. Any good windshield place should have them too. When I had my windshield done a while back the guy actually had a handful of clips with him.

I had my windshield replaced this summer and they guy was able to use clips he had in his truck (he came to my house). It was really quick and it's amazing what a new windshield looks like compared to an old one.

If I was you I'd go with the advice and order them from Black Dragon, easy and inexpensive.

or-
ebay - listed all the time for about $12. Make sure you specify your model year - seems the clips varied a bit btw the earlier and later 1st gens...?

Black Dragon and your local glass guy should have some. I had a new PPG windshield put in and the glass guy gave me a new set of clips.

I have gotten all of my replacement clips from Black Dragon. They are good enough to do the job.
